The heartwood is a rich, reddish brown to dark brown which darken with age, with the sap wood being a pale yellow.
It has a fine uniformed texture and knots and other grain irregularities are not uncommon.
Generally, on account of its density, sharp cutters are a must. But turns superbly with high finish's being achieved.
This wood is not listed in the CITES Appendices nor on the IUCN Red list of threatened Species.
